COVID-19 Coronavirus Update

Temporary Changes to address our current needs.

This morning I shared the following information with my current clients. I am opening up these temporary options to potential new clients as well.
The COVID-19 Coronavirus: how might it be affecting you personally?
This is undeniably a stressful time in the world and has been affecting people in many different ways. Here are some possible things you may be facing right now and I am concerned with how you may be feeling and coping.
  • Your children may be home from school right now.
  • Your job- are you able to work? Do you want to? Are you afraid? There are many different potential stressful consequences that may be affecting you in so many ways, including financially.
  • General everyday life changes because of the national panic- grocery shopping being just one of them.
  • Deciding how you feel about social distancing and what that looks like for you, and how your loved one’s decisions are affecting you.
  • Disappointment in changes in personal plans- from small daily routines to the big like canceled traveling.
  • You and/or someone you love may be immunocompromised.
  • The philosophical anxieties involved.
  • And many others…
I am not listing these things in order to create anxiety or worry for you or to tell you that you should be worried. I simply want to acknowledge I know things might be extra hard for you right now. Because of all of this, and my own personal wish to do my part in helping, here are the temporary changes in affect starting today.
1- I will be offering shorter, 30 minute sessions via HIPAA compliant video or phone. 
These shorter sessions can be about whatever you want, but generally speaking they are less useful for going into the deep deep personal work (as we often need more time for that), and more helpful for dealing with the stress you are currently facing and help processing whatever it is that’s going on in your mind and heart right now. (Like how to deal with all of these changes!)
 
2.- I am expanding my sliding scale spots to include anyone who is currently being affected financially by the consequences of the virus.
 
If you need a temporarily reduced rate please let me know. If you need to talk but you are choosing not to because you can’t afford it we can work it out!
 
3.- In order to do my part in helping to “flatten the curve”, I am personally practicing social distancing.
What this means is that if you are able and willing, I would prefer to move our sessions temporarily to a virtual office. There are many advantages to having a session from the comfort of your own home! All you would need is privacy and a good internet connection. I know there is nothing like “in person” but you might be surprised at how good a session can actually be in this format. Learn more about this HERE. Telehealth Options:
1- Any session length via HIPAA compliant video. You do not need to download an app- you simply connect to the link I will send.
2- Phone session- Up to 50 minutes in length.
3- Write it Out Sessions. Go HERE for more info.  This is also a budget friendly option.
In Person Option:
If you are a current client and significantly against temporarily having video sessions instead of face to face, please read the email I sent regarding instructions for in person during this time.
For new clients, I ask you to consider the many benefits of the video session. Please GO HERE to learn more. If you are interested in a face to face session, I will be scheduling these for new clients in a few weeks when it is safe to do so. Please email me with any concerns or questions.
